The Kovalchick Corporation was founded by Nick and Fannie Kovalchick in 1928, and has been operating continuously from its Indiana, PA center of operations. The family run corporation is anchored by its President, Joe Kovalchick, and daily operations are managed by his son Nathan. This year we are celebrating our 85th year in the scrap, salvage, recycling, and railroad business.
The Kovalchick Corporation leads the market in buying and selling railroad rails (both new and used), railroad ties, (and landscape ties), track accessories (tie plates, rail anchors, fasteners), frogs and switches.
We are recognized by members of the railroad and mining industry as a quality supplier of rail, rail accessories and other products. Power utility service companies are able to reclaim investment capitol by selling us their scrap transformers, wire and other scrap materials.
Kovalchick Corporation also maintains the capability to provide railroad removal services. If you have rail that you no longer need, contact us and we will make arrangements to suitably remove any rail and track accessories from your property.
We carry many new steel materials, hot and cold rolled round, angle iron, various sized flat metal, tubing and plate. If you need it we probably have it. Our construction inventory includes but is not limited to many sizes of rebar, steel beams, and metal pipe.
We also have a large supply of salvaged steel, aluminum, stainless steel and copper.
